“Whistles Blown” is a sequence of 7×17 + 8×10 platinum images by Monalog member Marty Frank which deconstructs a decaying 100-year-old steam engine in Paterson NJ into abstract forms. Rusted patina, faded paint and industrial patterns of a century ago are re-assembled through traditional photographic methods to create a new modern reality.
The exhibit can be viewed at Soho Photo Gallery from January 11-February 5, 2023 located at 15 White Street, New York City, NY. The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday 1-6 pm.
